How we help

For university students

Because of the only minor age difference, our university student volunteers can become good friends with the children in hospitals, ensuring session that are both fun and motivating for the children. However, we approach each session with maturity and responsibility in mind, setting a good example to the children.

For a common cause

Our goal is to one day have and Amigo next to every sick child. Just as we don’t like being alone, neither do the children. We hold our hospital and online sessions so that the loneliness of struggling children can be replaced with making friends, learning and playing.

Our mission is to help and develop sick children
in difficult situations by sending Amigos
(volunteer university students) to play,
learn and grow friendships with them.

As a team

We form a community

Across five cities in the country, we have 158 enthusiastic volunteers, ranging from diverse degrees and backgrounds, all working towards the shared goal of reaching as many children as possible.

In order to be able to grow and develop together, we attend Amigos Academy, retreats and we even have a psychology system surrounding us in order to ensure the mental well-being of our volunteers. We take our monthly supervisions seriously, but never miss out on Amigos-nights, shared holidays, canoe camp, sports month or joint ski trips.
